Jamais mon pays

*Troooop....

Et comme toi j'attends la pluie
Pour lui dire toutes mes peines
Tout comme toi, je lui souris
Quand elle tombe sur la plaie
Quand elle tombe sur la plaie

*Troooop...*

MY LAND

I don't know the sun
That burns the dunes endlessly
I don't know other lands
Than the one that gave me its hand
And if one day I leave this
To cross the desert
For to go to see where my life is from
On which street my dad played
I, the one who's born near Paris
In all those winds, in all those rains
I'll never forget my land
I'll never forget my land

And if tomorrow like today
I have to go around the world
To sing my desires to the world
To voyage whole years
I, the one who's born here near
Though I leave my firends
I'll never forget my land

*Toooo much
Important memories
Of passed school years and summers
Too much love to forget
That this is where I have born
Toooo much
Wasted time
On the benches of my city
Too much friends to forget
That this is where I have born
That this is where I have born *

I don't know that perfum
Of mynth and burning sand
Only the snorts
In surf of ocean
And you who regard me  as a little tame
For these bordered roads of prairies
A little too white for color of Euphrat
For these poems that I've learned
You are the only one I'll forget
Those stars fidel to the night
I'll never forget my land
My land

*Toooo much...*

And like you I wait the rain
For to tell it all my sorrows
All like you, I smile to it
When it falls to the plain
When it falls to the plain

*Toooo much...*

Ohrbooten

Band called Ohrbooten comes  from Germany and combines different genres: hip hop, pop, rock, gypsy, reggae, jazz, dancehall, alternative, salsa, orientaö, ragga, rap and ska. Ohrbooten calls their musical style as Gyp-Hop, that's also the name of their third and for now latest album. Name comes from gypsy and hip hop.
There are four members (from left): Christopher Noodt (keyboard, bass, back vocals), Ben Pavlidis (leading vocals, guitar, lyrics), Markus "Onkel" (means "Uncle") Lingner (percussion, drums, cajon,  back vocals) and Matze Jechlitschka (guitar, back vocals).
Band Ohrbooten sings in German because they want to be undesrtod in Germany because the lyrics are essential. They don't sing just in German but in slang od Berlin. Though they have performed on the stage they keep coming back to the streets where their group was formed and started for to be near their audience and people.
Ohrbooten has collaborated with such Central European bands as Estonian group Vanilla Ninja and German group Culcha Candela (maybe more about them later) and from 2008  Ohrbooten has been working for German project "School without rasism - School with courage".
This song is about the sad weather when we want to go elsewhere "where the weather is better". I heard this song first time when it was raining cats and dogs and tarantellas and this was like a ray of sun in the middle of grey. I apologize for this lyrics translation may contain errors for I have translated it from slang of Berlin which I do not speak.

kalter Regen is of menen Wegen

sicher is, dass ik mir verpiss
dahin wo det Wetter besser is
Sonnenschein ohne Kompromiss*

mene Füße in die Socken
mit zusammn in mene Botten
und dann volle pulle joggen
zu Robben und Wientjes

Lasterverleih!!!

allet wat ik hab,
ab of 'n Truck jepackt
durch die Innenstadt
Stop vor 'nem Trödelshop-Spot
und verklopp den Schrott
dit war doch allet nur 'n Anker
und ohne soviel Zeug läuft et doch sowieso entspannter
schicket one-way-ticket
der Style is mein Mantra

*und tschüss!... * (2x)

mein Konto lös ich auf
Wohnungskündigung is raus
mein Auto is verkauft
meinen Kumpels sag ich ciao

*und tschüss!... *

UND TSCHÜSS!!!!

 AND BYE!!!!

I run down the street...
The cold rain is on my way
It starts to hail...
Ey what is this?
What am I really doing in this city
Which has more winter than summer?

*And bye!...
When do I come back
It's uncertain
Certain is that I'll go
There where the weather is better
Sunshine without compromise *

My feet are in my socks
With my boots
And then full speed ahead
To the "Robben und Wintjes" ( a rent a car& transport company)

!!!Rastafari!!!

All what I got
Is packed in a trunk
Through the city
STOP in front of a junk shop
I leave all my stuff
All that was just an anchor
With less stuff it's more relaxing

Send a one-way-ticket...
That is my mantra

*And bye...* (2x)

I erase my account, my house dismissal is on,
My car is sold, to my friends I say ciao!

*And bye...* (3x)

AND BYE!!!

Yannick Noah

Yannick Noahs origins are in Camerono but he is a French tennis player. And a very succeful one. In addition to tennis he has also formed a charity organization for disavantaged children and started a pop singer career. He has now collaborated inter alia with Jean-Jacque Goldman who is well known French music maker. Noah sings in French and in Spanish.

Between 1993-2001 Noah has been part of the great francophonic ertist group called les Enfoirés.

His best known hit "Aux arbres citoyens" is an "environmental wake-up call" and very much seen in ecological circles. And for some unknown reasons I still decided to pick his other not so remarkable song with not so remarkable lyrics just because it's the only song in that genre that I do like. So let's dance to the beat of Yannick Noahs "Danser".

Check also: Donne moi une vie ("Give me a life"), Te quiero ("I love you"), Mon Eldorado ("My Eldorado - the city of gold"), Destination ailleurs ("Destination elsewhere")

(text: Kapler)

TO DANCE
*Dance to forget
That the world is beaten to the dents
Dance, redesign
A world with cadence *

For to pray the gods
Or to say goodbye
To exorsise one's angers and fears
To live the music inside

For make water to spout
And to fly once more higher
And to make shine our hearts and our corps
To celebrate the love, to celebrate the death

* Dance to forget..*

To put off the bad luck
To exist just a little stronger
To change the worse for the best
To dance
To pray like a tourning dervish
For the traditions – dance
For the emotions – dance
And for to celebrate the lands or nations
Dance for the dance

*Dance to forget... *

Hééééé Hi hé hi hé hé

For to refuse to be nobody
And to resist, to become a man
For the joy of sharing
Dance for the dance
(The best of the world or what?!?!)
*Dance to forget... *
(Ewerybody yeah yeah!!!)
Dance to forget

Paprika Korps

Paprika Korps a Polish band is not a traditional reggae band because they combine sounds of heavy dub and punk in their reggae music. They are very popular in Europe and due to their wide tour (25 countries!) they've got a nickname "The Heavy Reggae Travellers".

In 1996 formed Paprika Korps has six members: Marcin Matlak (vocals, guitar), Piotr Maślanka(keyboard, melodica, vocals), Tomasz Krawczyk (bass),Łukasz Rusinek (guitar), Aleksander Żeliźniak (drums) and Jakub Łukaszewsk (mix).

To Paprika Korps their music is a way to rebell and protest. They sing both in Polish and in English. The style of repeating one sentence in the middle of the track could be dull - but what comes with Paprika Korps - it's not. On the stage they are impressive playing among the invasive fog under the flash of the blue and red lights.

Paprika Korps new album Metalchem is released couple of weeks ago.
*Explore the mind and reach salvation
Solve the puzzle of creation*
Past events, past lifes happened to you
More than just a feeling of a deja-vu
I feel like a onlooker into my past life
Cutting into previous times my mind the knife

When hallucinating seem things in dreams
Could I see into the future? It isn't what it seems
I say it's confusion the way that I feel
Chemical inside me makes it so surreal
*Explore the mind and reach salvation
Solve the puzzle of creation*
They hold the strings, salvation is far
You'd like to see things the way that they are
They don't want you discovering your mind
They stay in power, while you stay blind

Wisedom, knowledge you must devour
Threaten convention, those in power
As will the opressors in authority
Who'd hate to see our land totally free
*Explore the mind and reach salvation
Solve the puzzle of creation*
Ragga technician is on the mission
Against those who stay in power while you stay in vision
Watch out a feel a reggae wide attack
Bad days now are gone, the rotten system gone out

So people people move your dancing bodies
Destroy the old statement make everything clear
Our mind shall burn, with or without cannabis
The time is incoming, and the prophecy is near

What I specially like in Huecco is his great lyrics and the strange way to express himself. His music is catching and partly wild. Reina de los angelotes is one of my fovorites along with the song Creo, which is my song to share today. Notice that Huecco mentions a name, Itzel, she is his daughter and song is dedicated to her.

CREO

Ratitas presumidas y arrogantes
Juegan a barrer países y a esconder las llaves.

Y las tiran al fondo del mar
Matarile rile ron matarile rile ran

*No, no creo.. *

Ay!

*No, no creo... *

I BELIEVE

I believe in mankind
When it conquires lands that do not belong to it
I believe in good belief of collaterar damages

I believe in God when in His name
Carriages of Madrid and London are trembling
The trade of petrol and blood
Blessed exchange always seeking for culprits

Yes I believe in magic that hides
Behind the homeland and flags of colours
In those who die in the battle
And in those who step into the mines of chocolate

That's why I only believe in you
Uay ay ay my love, I only believe in you
(I only believe in you)

I think I believe in different versions
In one thousand faces of fear and its manifestations
Complacen and arrogant little rats
Play sweeping the countries and hiding the keyes

And thay'll be thrown to the bottom of the sea
Killingile rile ron killingile rile ron
I believe in fire works
And in the militarian faults

That's why, I only believe in you
Uay ay ay my love, I only believe in you

*No, no I don't believe in the innocence of the voice, of the voice of concience
I'm not, I'm not, I'm not gonna kiss the lips of the violence
Because the flowers whiter and the hate disstress you
And I only believe in you, only in you
(only believe in you) *

I believe in speeches with sermons
In promises to falsify the elecctions
I believe in robbers with white gloves
Mordant cynics on the chairs of government

The horses eat pawns
The bishops surrender under the pover of the Towers
The check to the king beginning from the sea
In the chess of nuclear power

That's why I only believe in you
Uay ay ay Itzel

*No, no I don't.. *

I'm not interested to be the strawberry catch of your ambicions
Lions with gums drain our hearts
There is no reason us to keep touching the balls
No one confess, nor expresses the forgiveness
Nor express the forgiveness

No, no I don't believe in the innocence of the voice, of the voice of concience
Ay
*No, no I don't.. *

ZEBDA

ZEBDA is a french but multicultural rap-rock-reggae-raï band from Toulouse which was formed in 1985. Their most popular and best known song is "Tomber la chemise"("Take off your shirt" it means "Let's get to works") and it was named twice the best French song of 2000 (Victoires de la musique and NRJ Music Awards). There are seven members: Pascal, Joël, Hakim, Magyd, Mouss, Rémi and Vincent. Their themes are social justice, the rights of immigrants and minorites in France. The band broke up in 2003 but the members continued their local activity for political and social justice. (When you clik the title you can listen the song - but sadly only place I found it was You Tube and the jumping guy doesn't belong there so just listen and forget him. ;D )

Check also: "L'erreur est humaine" ("Mistake is human"), "Motivé" ("Motivated"), "Je crois que ca va pas être possible" ("I don't think it could be possible") and lyrics.

MA RUE
(Cherfi Magyd/Zebda)

Qu'ils n'habiteront jamais

Dans cette rue y avait
Des caravanes comme
Des chariots de la colère
Qu'ont pas peur de l'hiver
De la fureur de la terre

Dans cette rue je crois
Les enfants n'étaient pas de glace
Quand passait le camion de glace
On tirait des langues étrangères

On était dans les bois
On avait des arcs et des flèches
Quand d'autres avaient des cannes à pêche
Mais l'école, elle en veut pas

Un jour on s'est fâchés
On a tout brûlé, on a pas eu peur de l'enfer
Quand on s'est réveillés
Derrière des barreaux en fer

Pour toi

** Ma rue, ma famille
Les mamans qui s'égosillent
C'était : va jouer aux billes
C'était ma rue
... **

MY ROAD

On this road there were
Spanish people who didn't dare to rise
They support the old refugees
Who escaped from idiots and kings

On this road there were
Frenchmen who were without luck
They wrote "long live France",
to the wall of their house

On this road there were
Portugues people they were proud like
Jailers of misery
Some fruittrees
And all the coynes of the world

** It was
My road, my family
Those mothers who shout
It was: however - ball-games

It was my road
It was not Manille
No, it was not Antilles
It wasn't a hammer or a sickle
It was my road

Vanilla ice-cream
And little kids,
those who shake
They are not so sweet

It was my road
Good morning eels
The cops, who supervise us
But it wasn't my Bastille
It was my road **

On this road there were
Africa ans its own mistakes
They have another God, I suppose
There we met idiots and crosses

On this road there were
All the workers of the world
There they were building foots on land
Where they'll never live

On this road there were
Caravans like Carriages of angry
They are not the fear of winter
Of the violent world

On this road I think
The kids weren't built of ice
When they drove with ice-trucks
They spoke strange languages

One day we were angry
We burned all, we weren't afraid of hell
When we have woken up
Behind the bolts in chains

For you

**My road, my family
Those mothers who shout
It was: however - ball-games
It was my road... **
